KirtleyWood’s founders, Phoebe Wood and Olivia Kirtley, have each served on numerous corporate boards for more than two decades and held significant board leadership roles. They have actively participated in CEO and Executive Chair leadership successions and transitions, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, SEC and DOJ inquires, activist challenges, whistleblower investigations, and shareholder litigation. Their collective governance experience and practical knowledge of good board practices across a variety of industries is accompanied with a strong mission to help boards and individual directors maximize their value and contributions.

We believe engaging our advisory services is a powerful demonstration that a company is totally committed to supporting the confidence, knowledge and success of new board members and leaders, as well as elevating overall board effectiveness.
Our engagements are exclusively with companies, not individual directors. For new directors, the advisory period is 12 months in order to encompass an entire annual board cycle and the first part of the following fiscal year. The advisory period for new board and committee leaders is generally for 12 months. The duration of other advisory services is based on specific needs and for a period as may be negotiated.
